Following Seattle
Symphony’s critically acclaimed 2007 production of this concert-staged opera by Bartók,
the stunning sets, designed by artist Dale Chihuly, have traveled to Milwaukee,
Nashville, Tel Aviv and will return to Benaroya Hall for a two-night
engagement.

in its fourth year, Celebrate Asia showcases the musical traditions of both
East and West in a spectacular celebration of our region's diverse Asian
community. Pre-concert performances start at 6:30pm.
Rising
star HAHN-BIN will perform
Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto; Grammy-winning trumpet player Cuong Vu will
perform an original work for jazz quartet and orchestra; and pipa soloist Jie
Ma will perform Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Zhou Long’s Beijing Drum for
pipa and orchestra.
